How is Clinical Pilates different?

Clinical Pilates

What's the difference?

Well, quite a lot actually.  Clinical Pilates is a method of exercise used for rehabilitation after injury or surgery and is generally led by a health care professional.

Unlike regular Pilates where participants all perform the same general program, Clinical Pilates provides an individualised approach to your treatment and goals. Before you begin, you'll have a detailed assessment by a physiotherapist and, based on this, an individualised program developed to suit your level and ability and reduce your risk of aggravation and re-injury.

Some of the benefits of Clinical Pilates include improvements in posture, flexibility, muscle strength and control, balance, and core and pelvic floor strength. This is achieved using a mixture of mat work and equipment-based pilates (eg. reformer, trapeze table, balance board) and therapeutic strengthening approaches.
